I. Describe the Assignment and Why I Chose It
For this assignment we had to right a College Admissions Essay that was around 400 words long and had to follow one of 7 prompts. The purpose of this essay is so when we are a little older and have to apply for collages we already have a really good base for an essay. So of course this isn't are final college essay because we should make changes later on but it is a strong base if you put the time into it. It has been of of the biggest assignments so far this semester.
II. How it Represents a 21st Century Skill
This task was a good example of Self-Directional Skills. I think this most accurately fits this project because we were on our own for this one. We had to look at all the resources we had on our own time and come up with our own unique story to write about for the essay. We had about 2 weeks I believe to complete it and we had to work on our timeline and it showed if you did spend a lot of time into the essay.
III. How it shows my Current Growth and Room for New Growth
This sample demonstrates my current growth because it puts my writing skills up on display and to a test. I also had to think a lot and change my ideas during brainstorming just to come up with how I want my essay to start off. It took a lot of changes and focus to come up with how I want my essay to sound like. Now of course there is always plenty of room for New Growth so if I could do this again I would start it earlier. I waited a bit to start my essay which was a mistake and If I start early I would just do a little bit every day instead of cramming it in a couple days to a week when I had so much more time.
